Default Problems with XP not sure if it is the motherboard or WindowsXP

I have a ACPI compliant board ECS L7VTA2 with an Intel modem Windows XP
compliant, creative labs sound card Windows XP compliant ATI video card
XP compliant.
The problem is that sometime when you tell it to shut off it will
restart on you.
This is Not everytime but every once in awhile when you start it it will
not recognize the keyboard that is connected to the serial port.
Does anyone recognize this problem or have any suggestions on what might
be causing this problem?

Hi Terry,

What's happening is that you're encountering an error during
the shutdown process, and your error recovery options are
more likely than not set to reboot automatically after errors.

To stop this behavior and to analyse the error, try the steps in
this article: http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/windowsxp/bsod.htm
