I get the same problem, but I'm pretty sure it's my hardware. It's Cheap!

hi lori.
try uninstalling and reinstalling the cd-rw drives from device manager also delete the upper filter and lower filter from the registry and restarted ..i hope this take care of the issue..follow this lnk to delete upper filter and lower filter http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
