Default Signing into messenger looses internet connection!?

Here's the deal,

I run cable modem, and have 2 machine on it going through
a hub. Everything has always worked fine in the past, but
2 days ago some funky **** started happening.

My internet would be working fine, i could surf pages,
mirc, download, kazaa, whatever just fine. Then all the
sudden both computers would loose connectivitly, and any
incoming or out going internet connection would die.

Webpages would pull up 'can't display page, blah blah
blah'... This seemed to be random, till I started playing
around a bit.. I tracked it down to MSN Messenger...

basically, If i sign into MSN Messenger with my account
(macaronni@hotmail.com) the wholeinternet freezes and
looses connectivity. The cable modem still shows itself
working fine, and DHCP is sitll assigning IP's to my
computers.

STRANGE PART. you would think it was a problem with MSN
Messenger eh? Well if i log my wifes account onto my
machine, it loads up just fine!!

short version,

I log into messenger with my account, my whole network
looses connectivity from internet, and i have to unplug my
cable modem to get back online.
If i log on someone elses messenger account on my machine,
works like a charm...
any suggestions, please help a freak out..

whats the point of using MSN Messenger when you don't know which settings
to use, they put a causion before downloading 'Not for the faint-hearted'.
