Default Installation Error Message.

With a brand new hard disk in a computer, I have the BIOS
set to boot from the CD.

The CD starts the boot and gets through the part where it
is loading kernel.dll and then I get an error message.
The error message says -

"File setupdd.sys could not be loaded. The error code is
7."

Trying several times before giving up and coming here, I
actually get two messages. Both say exactly yhe same
thing except the second messages tells me it is an error
code 4.

Does anyone have any idea what these two error codes mean?

Thanks

John,

Are you installing from original media or is it an ISO copy to CD?

I've seen this problem turn up on fast cd burners that tend to write small
errors into the burn.

Try installing from the original media.
