Boot client from network card...

Hi,

This is my configuration:

clients: XP compatible hardware, with Intel pro 100 NIC with boot rom
Server: Windows 2000 Server - installed with RIS

And this is my need:

I want to boot the clients from network boot option, which is available in
the client PC's bios boot menu. After pressing F12 (the key for selecting
network boot), DHCP requests were sent and GUI id with zeros are shown.
After few tries, it reports the failure (no boot image file specified/found)
and continues to boot from hard drive.

I have not done any thing in server side apart from installing RIS (thinking
that this should be related to RIS).

I need to boot through network, from an image file so that, I can use it as
emergency disk to repair or diagnose problems. It is enough it boots to DOS
(w98 version) and need not even access network. I just want to use network
boot instead of floppy as it is bit difficult to maintain and highly
unreliable.

Please tell me what I should do in server to achieve my wish. First of all,
please tell me whether is this possible? If it is related to RIS (Remote
installation Service), can you please tell me what to do next after
installing it and restarting the server?

Have you authorized the RIS in your Active Directory environment?
