Has anyone here ever seen this error when simply booting WinPE (disk 1 of
the toolkit)? The system boots fine, seems to start up all of the services and then about 8 seconds later, crashes with that error. |

Can you instruct WinPE to boot using the default VGA Standard driver instead
of it's guess? I've run RAM checks, the ram is fine. Therefore I suspect that WinPE is assuming an incorrect video driver. What else do you see on the BSOD? Any info on the driver/app that caused the
crash? On the same hardware have you tried XP Pro? Have you seen the same problem? -- KM, BSquare Corporation > Has anyone here ever seen this error when simply booting WinPE (disk 1 of > the toolkit)? > > The system boots fine, seems to start up all of the services and then about > 8 seconds later, crashes with that error. |

Unfortunately, XP pro also crashes during install. The hardware vendor says
they've installed XP Pro on the hardware before. I'm beginning to think I have a bum unit. I've seen this BSOD a few times. Once with mtxdma0.sys so unless you are
using a Matrox frame grabber this is not an issue. The other time I saw it no file was listed. I thought I had bad memory. A bad memory stick that is :-). I put in another stick and the machine booted fine. I put the original memory stick back in and it booted fine so go figure. I doubt its related to WinPE especially since your h/w vendor says that XP Pro loads fine. HTH...
