3rd Party Software installation with FBA - help

I am trying to figure out the best scenario to install 3rd party software
into XPE, without creating a complex component. My first thought is employed
the FBA, with zip compression. I need some help to verify the scheme:

- The entire software package is zipped into a single file. This can be
easily into into XPE repository during the build.
- Make the component holding the package
- Make the FBA launching a script to unzip the package and then run the
setup function of the package. Assuming that the package can be installed
and registered in silent mode.

In addition, XP supports decompression of zip file thru windows explorer. Is
there a way to execute the decompression directly in command mode?
