No Spell Checker or System Info.

I have had XP Pro on a newly refurbished computer. I started out with a
Compaq Presario that had a CPU failure. I purchased a new case and
motherboard with a Pentium 4 processor and 1 gb RAM. The old drives were
used and XP installed on it. XP on the 40 gb hd and the 160 gb hd as
storage. I cannot get the spell checker in Outlook Express to work Same for
MS Word. Also when I try to find the system information I get a "Can't
collect Information" message.
How can I fix this?
