after SP2- system reboots at random

Ok.. so I put together my own system because I've been doing it that way
since 1990.

My new computer was running just FINE until I installed sp2. First the
install froze and corrupted my MBR. Ok fine.. whatever.. I formatted my c:
and reinstalled windows xp. (which doesn't hurt me a bit because I'm not
dumb enough to put windows and other files on the same partition... much
easier to flatten the windows partition and still have my files)

This time, I installed sp2 on a fresh install of xp because I had heard that
this was a common solution to sp2 issues. Now what do I get? Random
restarts with the error "caused by device driver". What a load of crap. All
of the drivers for my system are CURRENT and the only thing that MS suggests
to do it to turn them off ONE BY ONE and see which one is doing it.

Well... la de freakin' da. How the hell am I supposed to do that when the
restarts are RANDOM??!?! SP2 should NEVER HAVE BEEN RELEASED- AND YOU KNOW
IT.

Fix my problem and you win a prize, otherwise I'm removing sp2.

SP-2 was probably tested more than any other software has been.
Even so with all the Windows XP computers in the world and no two identical,
complete testing is impossible for anyone including Microsoft.

You have posted no information to this forum to work with.
Perhaps if you posted specifics about your drivers and hardware, someone may
recognize a hardware or driver that caused similar problems.

In some cases older drivers have worked.
Have you verified that the current drivers are in fact compatible with SP-2?

No one including Microsoft can fix your problem without you doing something.
Since you are unwilling to search for a solution, you might as well remove
SP-2.
Or possibly go to an OS you are willing to work with.

In fact guy, this is the LAST place I have searched for info. Why? Because
of worthless fools like you.

Get a grip guy. MS isn't gods gift to this green earth. And no, SP2 was
not tested completely- you forget that there are a ton of people out there
that live in SEATTLE and know a ton of people who are developers and testers
for microsoft. But I guess you must know a ton more about SP2 development
living in Canada.. riiiiight... even though I can call about a dozen people
who work in microsoft testing right now....

Believe it or not, I have a fairly good understanding of how microsoft works
around their problems instead of fixing them. Wonder why their code is so
bloated? Because most of the bugs are still there... they only sealed them
off and worked around them.

The basis of my question still stands:

if anyone else has my problem and has found a workaround, please don't
hesitate to reply. In order to work with this issue, it would be nice to
know if anyone else is having this problem- then we can work into the details.

If what you said was true about who you know, you would have already called
them.

The specifics are still unknown to all but yourself.
Instead you post in generalities and demand specifics.

You may be better off taking your computer to a local tech where the
specifics can be known and properly diagnosed.

Perhaps if you were a little more civil instead of blaming everyone else for
your problems, you may get other answers.
But with the attitude you have already demonstrated, some have already
turned you off.
Your best chance now if you still refuse a local tech, is to start over with
a new identity and new thread so those that will otherwise ignore you may
come to your aid.
Of course, not much chance unless you post the details requested now the
second time.

Your need for insults shows more of your character flaws than it says of
anyone else.
