Default aol and remote desktop

I am using aol as my isp at home to create a vpn connection with my server at
work. I am then running remote desktop to control my work computer, when i
run remote desktop all i get is a blank blue screen with the ip address of
the remote computer.

I have tried creating the same connection using another isp and it works
fine, has anyone got any ideas why this is not working through aol but works
fine with another isp.

many thanks
