Taskbar

Why are the two computers in the taskbar sometimes twinkling and why is
sometimes program in the taskbar orange-coloured?

The connection "twinkles" when there is communication going on. The Taskbar
button will flash orange when the program it is associated with has the
focus or has completed a task. For instance, if you click a link in Internet
Explorer and then minimize that program, when the browser loads the page for
that link, it's taskbar button will flash orange.
