Default forgotten login pwd, any solution?

In the organisation where I work, there is a PC with
windows XP. When I switch it on, it says that the pwd has
expired and that I must enter a new pwd. When I give the
old and new pwds, it says that either the username or the
pwd is invalid. So, it appears that someone has changed
the pwd on the m/c without my knowledge. At least that's
my best guess, What is a way out? I'm really stuck on
this, so any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
