Default microsoft patch

I have received two or three email messages purporting to have come from
Microsoft Technical Assistance with what is termed a "204 Cumulative Patch",
okay, but my McAfee virus scan indicates these emails contain a virus.
Unbelievable, unless one or other is wrong. Can I download the patch and
risk getting a virus? Please advise. Thanks.

Default RE: microsoft patch

Hi,

Microsoft never distributes patches thorugh mails.
They are available only through windows update web site.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
A scan engine will scan your operating system and then determine which updates have to be done for your system and accordingly the updates will be downloaded.

Do not fall a prey to these malicious mails claiming to be updates.
