Default Mdw file - Workgroups

Mdw file

I have created a .mdw file on a shared network drive.

I am confident that if the Access user joins this file, they are asked for a
password for a particular Database.

How do I get Access to automatically log the user onto this .mdw file, when
they load up Access?

The problem at the moment is that users can easily get into this Database,
without any restrictions. I have to physically go to each user and log their
Access onto this particular workgroup

There are 10's of users, and I am looking for an easily, more automated way

Look forward to hearing from someone

Thank you

Default Re: Mdw file - Workgroups

1) If you properly apply security, users can't get in without restriction

2) You may create a shortcut to msaccess.exe that specifies the workgroup or
profile

3) You may use the workgroup manager (or a registry script) to change the
default workgroup on each PC.
