Default Problem with flash and macromedia downloads

is anyone else out there experiencing problems with
either macromedia flash downloads? I went to the website
and downloaded (numerous times) and it even said it is
compatible w/ my OS which is Microsoft Windows XP
Professional. But it completes the download, says
complete......then.......doesn't work Can anyone
help me please. tell me what I maybe doing wrong, or if I
have to check certain settings ( and maybe where to
look?) I am new to this windows program, so I am still
learning......I did get the java to "finally" work, since
my version didn't have it.

Thanks in advance!!

Are you running Zone Alarm or some other firewall or security software that
might block the installation of ActiveX controls? If yes, temporarily
disable or check their options to allow the installation in this instance in
order that the player be installed. Such security measures can cause the
problem you describe.

Once you've done this, be sure to first clear the Internet Explorer Cache
before returning to the site for download and installation. Open Control
Panel, open Internet Options, click Delete Cookies, Delete Files (Accept the
option to delete all offline content) and click Clear History.

Hi,

Make sure that you have sufficient privileges to do the installation.
