my cd & dvd drives can not read

what happened, other than windows media 9, i was using
roxio easy cd vreator. then i converted the dvd drive to
data drive to enabel me to hold 4.5 gb of data assuming
that i can change it again to its original feature. then
after my dvd drive can show me video movies & later on my
cd drive stop working. the message that appears is aa
follows
Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be
sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does
not exist at the specified location, or the computer
where the file is stored is offline.

now i have a problem using my cd & dvd drives

Try this:
Go to Sytem Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager ->
DVD/CD-ROM Drives delete all of them, then go to IDE
ATA/ATAPI controllers and delete Primary and Secondary
IDE Channels. Reboot the mechine.
