hi!
i have some problems with user accouts on my computer with winxp. i always use the computer only as an administrator without creating any account but this time i created one and now i would like to delete it and return to work as an old administrator. for now its impossible. i cant delete new user, i cant log as an admnistrator with normal system start. how can i restore default logging as an administrotor? i tried to change configuration in boot.ini with bootcfg but i didnt work. its possible that i had wrong syntax please help me with that regards Andre |

Hi Andre
You should really only use the original Administrator's Account for troubleshooting. To logon as the Admin, press Ctrl-Alt-Del twice at the Welcome screen. You could then create a new Account for yourself with Admin. privileges. -- Will Denny MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "Andre" <andre_cut_hull@poczta_cut_.fm> wrote in message news:cb65s6$f8q$1@news.onet.pl... | hi! | | i have some problems with user accouts on my computer with winxp. i always | use the computer only as an administrator without creating any account but | this time i created one and now i would like to delete it and return to work | as an old administrator. for now its impossible. i cant delete new user, i | cant log as an admnistrator with normal system start. | how can i restore default logging as an administrotor? i tried to change | configuration in boot.ini with bootcfg but i didnt work. its possible that i | had wrong syntax | | please help me with that | | | regards | Andre

Hi Andre
Your PC could be a security risk if you use the original Admin Account. However, type or copy/paste the following into Start>Run control userpasswords2 and then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.'. Click Apply - you will have to know the Administrator's password at this stage. Follow the onscreen prompts. You can logon automatically if you create an account with Admin. privileges: From Start>Run type in control userpasswords2 then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' - delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out and then reboot your system. -- Will Denny MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "Andre" <andre_cut_hull@poczta_cut_.fm> wrote in message news:cb66fq$kb0$1@news.onet.pl... | > You should | | | i should use? | i do now and then but i would like to login automaticaly as an administrator | like earlier. i dont want any other accounts... | | | regards | Andre
