Microsoft stop error during loading of Battlefield:1942

This is my first time ever posting on something like this
so...please bear with me if I do something wrong.

Currently I am facing an error that is extreamly
annoying. Last week I bought Battlefield:1942 and
installed it. The first two nights, everything worked
fine, and there were no problems. The third night,
however, I was given the blue screen of death and a stop
error. To resolve the problem, I simply uninstalled and
reinstalled the program, which worked fine for a short
while. Later that day, though, I recieved the same error
and was forced to reinstall again. This time I
reinstalled and also installed the offical patch for the
game. Again, everything worked fine for a short while but
then it went kerplunk again. This time, though,
reinstalling doesn't work at all. It still returns the
same error and forces me to reboot.

Does anyone have any sugguestions that might help?

Any help is very appreciated.

I've seen that error mentioned in video card newsgroups. Try updating your
video card driver.

Hi,

Test your RAM chips to see if they are in good shape and then rebuild your
page file. Here's how that's done:

Use http://www.memtest86.com/memt30.zip
after you extract that zip file, click on the README.txt file for the
instructions on how to create the boot floppy to test your RAM.
If you don't have a floppy drive use Microsoft's new Ramtest CD: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

1.. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2.. Click the Advanced tab.
3.. Under Performance, click Settings.
4.. Click the Advanced tab.
5.. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
6.. Click No paging file. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
7.. Restart your computer.
8.. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
9.. Click the Advanced tab.
10.. Under Performance, click Settings.
11.. Click the Advanced tab.
12.. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
13.. Click System managed sized. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
14.. Restart your computer.

After more testing on my part (Read: Trial and Error), it
seems like the stop error only occurs after I install and
then reboot. I uninstalled, cleared the page file, then
reinstalled and everything worked until I rebooted.

The video drivers are up to date, and the ram tested
fine. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
