Hi all .
Was thinking of upgrading my graphics card from the Geforce 4Ti 4600 128 mb.Don't really want to spend £300+ to get the latest as in 2 months it will be worth £200(usually). -- Remembering that the TI4600 is agp x4 and not fully DirectX 9 compattable would it be worth buying say the FX5700 ?? Would there be much of an improvement using the 5700 ULTRA 256. Presently I am playing Call of Duty fine with my Ti 4600 ,but would love to be a little more future proof without spending too much. Any suggestions would be welcome the price range would be around £150-£200 -- \l/ (.) (.) _______0000_ O_0000________ l____l____l____l____l____l____l l__l____l____l____l____l____l__l JARSC |

Hi Jarsc,
I think you answered your own question, most people would "love" to have your exisitng Video Adapter. You also said that you didn't really want to spend the money for something that would be worth half as much down the way a bit. If you read the hardware specifications for Call of Duty you would find that yours more then meets requirements. The power of the exisiting adapters has not been reached by software yet. More memory usually helps with Textures. If you are like some of us, you do what to have the coolest stuff possible, so maybe you could sell your existing adapter and then use that money to offset the loss you think you would have. One thing you should realize is that a "new" bus format called PCIExpress is being launched. This will do away with the AGP port all together. You may want to investigate this possiblity before making your decision. Thanks for your post! -- Stephen Keen [MS] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warrenties, and confirs no rights.
