Default Chess

Have Mindscape "The Chessmaster 4000 Turbo" software that
work in Windows 95. It will not run in "XP". Error
message says "there is a problem with the 32 bit chess
engine". Any ideas on how to get it to work?
Thanks Rick

Take a look in Help and Support for Compatibility Mode, or there's a fine
TechNet article here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr...in/lgcyapps.asp
With a program that old, you may need to apply Compatibility to the
install.exe or setup.exe file on the CD before installing the program.
Then follow-up afterward with the same settings on the icon used to launch
the game. Remember to apply any updates available from the program web site
before launching the game.
