100% CPU usage

Hi,
When I was trying to play some pc games like FIFA2004, the cpu usage suddenly jump to 100%, then I went to task manager and saw that around 98% of the usage is occupied by the games... I can't play the game long since it shut down automatically after sometime... othe than games, everything is okie... please help me. thanx

It's normal for some games to use high amounts of CPU time. I don't think
this is causing your problem with the game shutting itself down.

I've never played that game, so I don't know of any specific problems with
it. Can you find any kind of "error log" text file in the game's
installation folder? Maybe it can give some hints.

Many problems with games are related to drivers: especially video and sound.
See if you can update these to the latest versions, from the web site of the
cards' manufacturers. Then again, sometimes I have problems with the latest
versions of drivers and I fix them by going back to an older version.

Have you contacted the tech support for the company that makes the game?

This is a symptom of games locking up your computer, but it does not suggest
what the problem is, it could be hardware or software serious or easily
fixed. Follow the advice for fixing drivers and hardware on this forum and
that will narrow down what the problem may be !

I have a game which gives 100% cpu usage with a memiory leak which is sorted
by restarting the game. Some kind of error is locking up your graphics
thats all the task manager can tell you, you need error messazges and clues
as to what the problem is. Has this problem suddenly appeared ? has your
computer ever worked ?
