I have recently noticed that my PC had accumulated quite
a collection of dust around the back of the main housing and where all the leads are plugged in. I would like to attempt to clean it and was just wondering if there is any special equipment that i need to have before i go plunging in and messing about with the computer, and if so where can i obtain this equipment. Many thanks for any help Dave |

Hi Dave,
I use compressed air, a shop vac hose and soft paint brushes of assorted sizes to clean away dust bunnies. ;-) The brushes are good to use with the shop vac to dislodge and capture most of the dust before using short bursts of compressed air to finish the job. I usually take advantage of the opportunity to remove all my adapters and RAM, clean the contacts and reseat them. I exercise extreme caution when doing this! -- Cheers, Windows XP MVP Shell / User Jimmy S. http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Game FAQs: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=FH;[LN];gms Visit my Zone.com / Gaming Helpsite: http://nibblesnbits.tk or Call / Contact MS Support at: http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...id=sz;en-us;top My advice is donated "AS IS" without warranty; nor do I confer any rights. _________________________________________________________ "Dave Rees" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0cbc01c3c64e$7cf97da0$a401280a@phx.gbl... |I have recently noticed that my PC had accumulated quite | a collection of dust around the back of the main housing | and where all the leads are plugged in. You should also discharge any static electricity you may have in your body
by touching the medal frame of the case or use a static wrist band made for this... I do the first and do it each time before you touch any inside part of the motherboard etc. or you just might have a fried computer.
