the ati 9700 is about $200 and SMEARS the 9600xt and
5700. it is out of production, but available online in
some places and ebay. the 9700pro is about $30 more.

for an easily available card at retail, the 9600xt is a
good choice. some places are clearing out their 9800's
for $200 so keep an eye out; that is an extremely capable
card.
