Default Sega Master System 2 controller

Hi, I need help getting windows to let me use a sega
Master System 2 controller that fits into the com port
(that is, if it is at all possible)on XP. I have found
the serial keys section in the accessibility options in
XP but I lack the knowledge to make it work properly, or
what settings should be set etc. If you could help me out
if would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

"Sega Master System"? There used to be a console system by that name. If
that controller is designed for that console it might not only be
incompatable with a PC, it might damage the PC's motherboard.

The only game controlers I recall seeing that were designed for a PC's com
port were force feedback joysticks. Some other electronic equipment;
including Atari 2600 game console, Atari 8 bit computers, Apple //c
computers, and Sega Genesis used the same connecter as many (newer) PC
COM/Serial ports intended for mice. The pinouts on many of those connestors
is completely different from a PC COM port. Many controllers designed for
those systems weren't remotely sophisticated enough to communicate over a RS
232 serial interface.
