For 2 weeks I have been trying to get this gamepad to work
and have not succeeded yet.Everytime I try to add it,it gives me this message "Your gameport or gameport drivers are not configured properly" So, what do I do now? I am afraid to mess with anything else before I mess it up. Open to all suggestions! Mary B. |

Mary,
Randy gave you the directions to get your game pad to work. Did you try his method? If not you should because he is correct. I have the same gamepad and if you follow Randy's directions the gamepad will work. If you don't want to follow the advise given why ask the question at all? You are getting this message because you do not have a gameport device
configured properly for your system. This device is almost always a component of your sound card. It is the 15 pin connector you connect your joystick to. From your title though this isn't the type of device you are trying to use. The USB devices are not added through the "Add..." button in the Gaming Options control panel. You should be able to just plug that device into your USB port and the system should detect it and load the drivers for it. If this is not the case then chances are you have a USB controller with a VIA chipset. If you do have a VIA chipset you can try the update here http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2 Let me know if you need more help or any of this explained in more detail. -- Joshua Smith DirectInput Test Lab Microsoft ----- Get Secure! www.microsoft.com/security This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights "donald" <donald@duck.com> wrote in message news:147801c38708$44ddcaa0$a301280a@phx.gbl... > www.driverguide.com > go here to find possible new driver for device. > free to join and download. > > >-----Original Message----- > >For 2 weeks I have been trying to get this gamepad to > work > >and have not succeeded yet.Everytime I try to add it,it > >gives me this message "Your gameport or gameport drivers > >are not configured properly" So, what do I do now?
