Problem w/ computer microphone

Hey,
I just bought a Altec Lansing behind the neck headset
w/ mic and it's not working properly! I can hear things
but I can't talk to anyone. Plz help

Hi Jordan,

Double check your manual to make sure you installed it
exactly as Altec specified. Then using their instructions
troubleshoot / test the microphone in Control Panel /
Sounds, by making sure it's selected as the default device
for recording in the Audio tab, and also run the hardware
test in the Voice tab. If the tests fail, contact Altec, if
the work, make sure that the programs that you're using
