Default Cable Modem

I'm presently on ADSL , and i'm switching like tomorow for Cable. Now where i live there's this max download and upload limit that really ****es me off. Many people say that the company, internet provider, can't really count how much of gigs you download in a month cause it's impossible for them to check this out.

Now i'm really not true if it's true or not , does anyone know if that's true or not? and secondly,i heard that with some calbe modems you cna't count the amount of gigs that you download, and i'm thyikning about buying the scientific atlanta one, dpx 100 , so could anyone please inform me aobut this if anyone knows information?

thanks

Too late. Videotron can calculate now. Oh well. I never go over the limit anyway.
