I was wanting a PCI to USB card to upgrade my Dell to 2.0, and
was recommended this product: Syba Best Conn NEC Chipset 5 Port (4+1) USB 2.0 PCI Card What is the "1" internal port for? I'd rather have 5 out. Is that possible, can't seem to find one. Thanks Tim -- "Flush the Johns!" "I'm not FONDA Kerry" |

I wonder how hard that is to figure out? Guess I'll look on the Dell Specs on their site, I may not want to tackle this after all. Or, I guess you could just leave the two front ones 1.0. Actually, everything I have seems to work fine except for my SD Card Reader for my camera... slow as the 7 year itch. It could be because it's an "Edge". the one before that was a Sandisk Parallel and it worked fine. Tim |

Tim,
I have a similar PCI card and the 5th port is to bring USB to the front of my machine but not to the front case USB ports. I had to purchase a hub that goes into a 3.5" or 5" drive bay in order to get the PCI card 5th port to the front of my machine. These used to be available from newegg, and other vendors, for around $15. I haven't checked lately; so I'm not sure where they might be currently available, or how much they cost. My USB case ports go directly to my mobo using entirely different cabling.
