no monitor
I am trying to help my daughter fix her computer. It will boot up, but
there will be one long high pitched beep then two short ones, a few seconds later there will be 2 low pitched beeps. There is nothing on monitor. Could it just be the video card? Thanks Kathy |

One long 2 short usually means a video error

here is website that has beep codes for the various BIOS available.You can look

Unfortunately, there's no standardization (although there are some codes that tend to be the same). Your best bet is to visit the motherboard manufacturer's web site and see what those two particular codes mean. |

When I put the video card in another computer there were no problems. I tried disconnecting everything and it would boot and I had a screen on monitor that said there were no drives attached. As soon as I connect any cable to the hard drive, cd or floppy it beeps. Same thing with the power connections. Kathy |
