Laptop not booting after partition and installation of Windows

Thanks for the info, I have already tried the F2 bios settings bu
nothing happens.
So it sounds like its the bios that is the problem, is that right?
Is it something which can reset? I have a vague recollection o
something which can be reset on the motherboard by exposing it to ultr
violet light, could this be the solution? I dont know. But as I say
nothing appears on the screen. I have tried pressing lots of keys t
get something on the screen. I have even left it on in the hope that i
might display a message after being on for a while but this neve
happened.

The only way I can see getting around this is by taking the lapto
apart and looking at the insides as nothing loads on the machine s
nothing can be done there.

Anymore ideas?

If your BIOS is set to boot floppy and CD before the hard drive, then
the system should boot to a BOOTABLE floppy or CD. And it shouldn't
matter what condition the hard drive is in because the system never
looks at the hard drive.

Are you able to get to the BIOS setup screen? You said you used the F2
BIOS setting but nothing happened. Did the screen come up and did you
check the boot sequence and did you save the settings and exit the BIOS
screen?

Does you system actually go through the POST, and then stall? Or is it
not even doing a POST? If it is not going through POST, then you have a
hardware problem.
