Default Upgrade and Install (pt 2)

After taking the advice of those who so kindly posted a
reply to my problem with my AMD XP 2000+ I went and
reinstalled windows. Well, I tried to at least. In order
to make a long story short I'll just post a list of what
I did and where I'm at:

1st time: System hang at "Checking System Hardware"
message
2nd time: System hang after "Press F2 for Automatic
System Recovery"
3rd time: Message: "Error in i386\txtsetup.sif" Line 1334
4th time: Message: "Error in i386\txtsetup.sif" Line 9785
5th time: Message: "Error in i386\txtsetup.sif" Line 1334
6th time: System hang at "Checking System Hardware"
message
Here I disabled the processor cache.
7th time: System hang at "Saving Configuration"
Then I switched back to my AMD 1250MHz
8th time: Reinstalled to do a lab report for physics
Then back to XP 2000+ w/ caching
9th time: System hang at "Setup is starting Windows..."

That's everything... soo.... any ideas? I haven't got a
clue as to why it will install on one processor and then
hang on another.

I have the lastest BIOS version, so that can't be it.
Unless there's some unknown incompatability I can't see
what the problem would be.
