USB Thumb Drive

I have Windows XP Pro.
I put my Thumbdrive into the usb port and the computer
restarts. If I dont remove the thumbdrive it continues
to restart until i remove the drive.
I checked all updates on the net and everything is upated
including the motherboard drivers.

Does the USB flash storage device have the "Designed for Windows XP" Logo on
it?
Does plugging the device into another Windows XP PC also have similiar
behaviour?
Have you tried a different USB Flash Drive on this computer to see if it
works?

Yes to all
it does work on other computers with windows xp
i have tried another thumb drive and that also restarts
the computer.
