Is the drive partitioned and formatted?

Hi,

Is there any floppy in the floppy drive?
If yes, eject it and try again.

I replaced my old wd 80 hd with a Seagate 160 hd and after
I went through the utility that I had to use before I
could install xp, I got that same message. I called a
tech and he told me that you have to go into your bios and
disable your hd from booting and boot from cd rom. I did
just that and booting with cd rom with the xp cd in it and
it went fine, it partioned the hd and then I installed xp
with no problems. After xp installs, and you restart your
system, go back into your bios and have the hd selected as
booting up first and the cd rom next. Hope this helps you
because it helped me.
