I want to purchase a 250 GB Hard Drive. I have read some
people have had problems when they surpass 130 GB. I believe it has something to do with the BIOS and not Windows XP. How can I check if my system can handle a 250 GB Hard Drive? |

Hello
See link below and make sure that you have SP1 installed How to Enable 48-bit Logical Block Addressing Support for ATAPI Disk Drives in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;303013 Alvin Ray wrote: > I want to purchase a 250 GB Hard Drive. I should also mention you can download (free!) Aida32 and it shows in the
Storage->ATA section a checkbox for 48-bit LAB support. This tool will tell you everything about your system. http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php - Robert - "RobD" <robden12@adelphia.NOSPAM.net> wrote in message news:v6adnWiH9ZCrl43dRVn-vg@adelphia.com... > Check out http://www.48bitlba.com/partitiontools.htm for 48-bit lba info. > > - Robert - > > "Ray" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:289001c3e10a$93e75600$a501280a@phx.gbl... > > I want to purchase a 250 GB Hard Drive. Check with the people that made the motherboard for BIOS updates and drive
compatibility. "Ray" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:289001c3e10a$93e75600$a501280a@phx.gbl... > I want to purchase a 250 GB Hard Drive.
