Default 250 GB Hard Drive

I want to purchase a 250 GB Hard Drive. I have read some
people have had problems when they surpass 130 GB. I
believe it has something to do with the BIOS and not
Windows XP. How can I check if my system can handle a 250
GB Hard Drive?

I should also mention you can download (free!) Aida32 and it shows in the
Storage->ATA section a checkbox for 48-bit LAB support. This tool will tell
you everything about your system.

Check with the people that made the motherboard for BIOS updates and drive
compatibility.

Check with your Hard Disk mfg. A friend had this same problem call Western
Digital and they have a patch on their website for using a HD over 130mb
with XP
