I have a Gigabyte GA-7 (?) motherboard, which has a 40mm
cooling fan fitted. The fan is making a terrible noise, and I want to replace it before it fails. I am not near the PC at the moment, so I cannot look at it, and I need to know what voltage the fan motor runs at. I am assuming it is 5V? Can anyone please advise? Regards G |

The power supply for the fan comes from the motherboard,
not the PSU. Therefore, the motherboard "supply" voltage is what I need. >-----Original Message----- >On Thu, 22 Jan 2004 03:32:19 -0800, "graeme" ><graeme@cosgrove99.demon.co.uk> wrote: > >>I have a Gigabyte GA-7 (?) motherboard, which has a 40mm >>cooling fan fitted. (never have done that myself) Have always used the PSU supplies for the case fans. However according to the manual for my GA-7VAX all of the connectors on the motherboard for fans are listed as being 12V. |
