intellimouse explorer 3.0 usb

Have a intellimouse explorer, installed the intellipoint software. Able to change button assignments, but how do I assign button configurations specific to a program. Can't find any tabs or checkboxes that'll allow me to do this. If there is no way, is there a third party utility i can use?

And you're running IntelliPoint 3.0?! You haven't thought about going to
MS's website and downloading an update - it's been superceded twice.
