Default No Audio Device

After upgrading to Windows XP, the sound card and drivers
are all present and functioning, however the Sound
control panel shows No Audio Device. Under the Audio
tab, the audio device is shown as Microsoft RDP audio
driver. How can I get rid of this and teach the control
panel and XP to recognize my sound card that has all of
the correct drivers?
