Default Windows XP - Hibernation failures

My computer will not hibernate or standby. I have
uninstalled the 101/102 keyboard device 100 times and that
does not fix the problem. I have also downloaded and
installed the new XP service pack for WINDOWS XP and that
does nothing to help. HELP HELP HELP
