My installation of Windows XP thinks that all blank CDs
are music CDs. When I insert a blank CD, Explorer gives it the music CD icon and Windows Media Player attempts to play it. I have to go through some acrobatics to write files to the disk. It wasn't always this way. It used to be that when I inserted a blank disk, I got a nice interface I could use to write files to the disk. I don't know why it changed and I don't know how to change it back. Can anyone help? |

Can anyone help? Each time I put a blank CD in the drive, then attempt to open it, I get a nice error. This is normal behavior, I'm pretty sure. If Windows XP is attempting to open your "blank" CD, the possibility exists that the CD is not "blank" as you think, but that there are actually one or more music files on it. -- Donald L McDaniel Post All replies to the Newsgroup, so that all may be informed ============================================================ |
