New HD, New Restore Discs?

Hi
If I reinstall a totally new Hard drive on my laptop, a
Compaq Presario 2700, and if the HD is a totally different
one than the one I am taking out, will I be able to use my
XP restore discs to load up everything from new again? Or
am I required new discs for a different drive?

It is the motherboard/BIOS, not the hard drive that the
restore CD checks.
