Default usbscan.sys problem

After installing a Hewlet Packard 4110 multifunction
printer/scaner/fax on my system, I repeatedly get an
error message telling me to find usbscan.sys on Service
Pack 1. This file is nowhere to be found on my hard drive.

In researching the problem I discovered that this was
also a problem with Windows SE and Windows ME. See errata
ID #317 "Usbscan.sys Install Issue with Windows 98 SE".

What is the fix?

Isn't that file on your Windows XP install cd? It should be. Sometimes
Windows can't find it own ass with both hands and you have to help it.
Stick that XP cd in your drive and navigate to the drivers folders.
