Have just reformatted and reinstalled XP Pro with SP1 and all updates from
Windows Update. Nothing else installed. Prior to this reformatting for hard drive error I had the wireless desktop for bluetooth working well on same machine and have made no harware changes. I can no longer get the wireless desktop to work -Inserting the bluetooth controller brings up the New Hardware wizard -Chose Automatic installation (with the MS Wireless Desktop installation CD in the drive) -Recognised all the hardware, or appeared to, installed drivers and balloon popup said it was ready to use after rebooting BUT... -doesnt go. After installation of intellitype software the keyboard and mouse cannot be found by the software -In Device Manager the Bluetooth enumerator appears with a question mark where it previously had a bluetooth logo. Checking it further it says that it is working properly with no conflicts. Device wizard no help. -Bluetooth light comes on OK as expected. Have tried: - installing it on a laptop and installation went fine so doubt there is a hardware error with bluetooth controller. -Uninstalling and reinstalling Bluetooth software several times -Reformatting HDD and XP reinstallation again (same problem) -Manually deleting the BTHUSB.inf file and all sys files that were installed by the CD, and driver cache files and reinstalling again (same problem) Any help much appreciated. I dont know where to go on this, and cannot see anything on the MS website that will help And Happy Christmas to you all Andrew |
