Default CD driver won't read CD-R/RW's any more

My ATAPI CD burner can't read CD-R/RW CDs any more. It doesn't recognize that a CD has been inserted. It used to work fine, but ever since a failed burn it hasn't worked since. Any ideas?

Default RE: CD driver won't read CD-R/RW's any more

try rebooting your system with that disk in the drive and see if it is recognized then. seems there is a problem on many xp systems where the drive(s) are there, but they don't recognize that a cd has been inserted at all.
