Default How do I create 4 50GIG partitions on my 200Gig drive?

Hi,

I just got a new 200G drive I want to slave to my
master. I am running WinXP Pro. If I want to create 4
equal 50G partitions on my 200G how do I do it? Do I
just keep partitioning until I have 4 partitions?

I am not sure if my BIOS is 48bit... but I am running XP
Pro SP-1. If the machine Bios is a problem will the
computer only recognize the drive as a 132G drive? If so
do I just partition what the OS can see? In that case
what becomes of the unused 60+ Gigs?

Thanks,

Rich

First, make sure that the BIOS will allow the complete access of the 200GB
hard drive and do all/any BIOS upgrades. If the BIOS still does not see the
full capacity, the remaining unused disk space will be 'lost'. You may have
to purchase an separate ATA/133 controller card.

Then, using Disk Manager, just create the 4 partitions.

Hi,

Yes, just keep on parititon and select the volume in the
disk management.
If your mobo cannot recognize the 200 GB HDD in full, try
update the BIOS from the mobo manufacturer's website.
