Problem with registering

Can anyone help me? My DVD drive and CD burner randomly
both disappear and won't register. I have a Pioneer DVD
and a Sony Powerburn 24x10x40 CDRW. I am running XP
professional with all the updates. I've reformatted
multiple times. When I reboot I get them back. How can I
fix this?

Hi,

I would suggest you to unplug the power cord, open the
chassis, disconnect the IDE cable from the DVD, CD/RW and
mobo then reconnect them. Make sure all the adapters are
firmly connected. Also check the 12V power cable for the
DVD and CD/RW to ensure they are not losen.
