Default DVD help on VAIO notebook

I just got a new vaio notebook and am having trouble. The
DVD/CD player works for software and music but won't play
DVDs. When I put a DVD in nothing happens. I can't play
it in Windows Media Player or the Intervideo player that
came with it. When I right click on my drive it says file
system unknown. I updated the firware but can't seem to
find a new driver.

Any ideas on how to fix it.

The drive is a Matshita (matsushita) UJDA 745.

Thanks.

Go to Sony support for your model notebook, and review the updates
available for the computer. Sony support should be the first stop for
all operability issues.

Same problem as what, jaywalker? If you don't include the details, how can
we possibly assist?

Contact Sony tech support for immediate replacement. The machine is
still under warranty, so don't wait.
