I have a Howtek medical film digitizer attached to Dell presicion running
windows XP. The digitizer attaches to an Adaptec AHA2930cu PCI SCSI card. There are no windows drivers for the scanner which is controlled via the scanning software. The detected new hardware wizard continually pops up but there being no drivers or inf file it can go nowhere. The computer is not connected to the internet and the path in the wizard leading to microsoft when there are no drivers can't be taken. It then starts all over again. I have to leave it uncompleted on the desktop to stop in from coming back. I have disabled the device in hardware manager (it shows up under "other") but this did not do the trick. Are there any other settings or registry entries I can make to stop this activity? Perhaps an entry that tells XP it is correctly installed. Any help would be appreciated.....iternet popups are playthings next to this demon. Peter |
