How do you want it linked?

Do you want file sharing? Do you want to share an internet connection? Do you
want device sharing? Do you want to use your laptop applications with a better
keyboard and monitor? Do you want to synchronize data?

Does your laptop have a built in wireless connector?

I'm leaving for the weekend in a minute.

I suspect your floppy drive plugs into a USB port. It must have come with a
connecting wire which can only be plugged in one way.

It sounds as though you're not ready to set up a home LAN until you learn some
more. But meanwhile, is there a plug that looks like a phone jack, but a bit
too big for phone cords in the back of this and/or your desktop computer?

After you plug in your floppy drive, do you see a similar place to plug it into
your desktop computer? These are USB plugs.
