CD-ROMs and CD's will not play.

Hi. I have a DEll Dimetion 2100 Desktop that is about 12
months old. A few weeks back the CD-R Drive stopped
working.

If I put a CD-ROM (ie., a game) or an Audio CD into it
the draw and close it, the disk just keeps spinning (and
the small LED on the drive keeps flashing) but the disk
will not load and nothing comes up on my screen.

Any ideas?

Hello

Replace the cdrom drive ok could be defective so i would
go out purchase a new one and take it from their.

Hi. Im not exactly sure what's wrong because I obviously
haven't seen it myself. Try going to system information.
That's start, programs, accesories, system tools and then
system information.

Next go to components, and then you can either go to
storage and then drives to see its status, or you can go
to problem devices (which is in the same category)and see
if the computer has detected a problem leading to a
solution.

This is as much help as I can give you. I only ask if you
can try and answer my question please....Its the one about
Zip drives and zip disks. Please give it a go

not sure if cleaning it with a specified cd rom cleaner
will help, but might try.
