Hi,
I have been using XP Pro. Got BSOD with STOP error of B7... (mostly suggest hard config or a possibility of Boot Sector Virus). No config or hardware change on the machine... Tried many venues still not able to boot to Win in any mode. It even does not boot from Installation CD. Suspecting virus. What application can be used to check the boot sector virus on a dos level. Your time and help Very appreciated. Danial Do_it_2Gether@hotmail.com |

If your PC BIOS is set to check and boot from a CD-ROM, before booting from the HDD, then the HDD is ignored. I'd check your BIOS settings, that's where I would look. Try resetting them to defaults or checking the boot sequence. It's possible you have a BIOS virus, but I don't know how common those are, unlikely I'd say. @drian. |
